THE LORD’S DAY

May 24, 2020

CALL TO WORSHIP

1The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.

One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.

For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.

13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!

INVOCATION

Most holy and exalted God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; we gather to worship and give you the praise that you so richly deserve. Come to us, and make yourself manifest in our midst. Grant us the sense of your glory through your Word and Spirit. Strengthen us that we may behold your glory in the face of Jesus with eyes of faith, and so be transformed into your likeness. Fill our lives with hope in the glory yet to be revealed. Amen.

Peace and Hope for Dark Times: “Exulting in Hope of the Glory of God” Part 3

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:1,2)
