THE LORD’S DAY

July 26, 2020

TRANSITION SUNDAY: This Sunday we will resume gathering for worship at the church! However, for those of you who are yet unable to join us, we will continue to offer online worship. This Sunday’s online worship includes an older message. Beginning next Sunday, you will be able to hear the church services from the week before. We will miss you and hope that we might soon be together again!

Call to Worship: Psalm 34:1-8

I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!

I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Invocation:

Most blessed and holy God; it is wonderful to draw near to you today! You know, O Lord, that I am not yet ready or able to return to the worship gathering with my brothers and sisters, yet I pray that you will be with them – granting them great joy in your presence; in being together once again. And might I soon be able to be there with them, Father. But now, I pray that you will be here with me, as well, filling me with that same joy that comes through the gospel of your Son. Make my spirit sing in your presence! Renew my heart by showing me the kindness and power of Christ’s care for me! And delight in my returns of love!  I ask it to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Anthem: “My Hope Is Jesus”

The Reading and Preaching of the Word: “Who Touched My Garments?”
