Hi!  I’m Sharon and I’ve been the music director at TPC for about 19 years altogether now. I love our church’s commitment to good music, the dedicated choir members and handbell players we have, the organist/pianist and other instrumentalist that enhance our worship, and the wonderful support of our pastor in his dedication to having meaningful music and theologically sound texts in our services.

The organ accompanies most of our congregational singing and provides preludes, offertories, and postludes. Our church is a bit unusual in that most of the congregation chooses to sit through the postlude each Sunday to enjoy it! Most months we have one or two instrumental solos or duets—flute, clarinet, or violin, perhaps, and one Sunday the handbell choir plays.

The sanctuary choir sings every Sunday with a solo, trio or quartet adding variety from time to time. People seem to especially enjoy our women’s numbers and our men’s trio.

We’ll soon be coming into the Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas seasons—those of us involved in music are already learning pieces for those special services.  The choir will have its fall workshop on September 29 to get a jump start while the handbells have already started on a Christmas piece. I love that we have so much to celebrate in our Christian faith, in our mutual fellowship with each other, and in our ever-growing relationship with Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world!
